Why We Hold Retreats

1: To bring awareness back into the body

You may feel that you are in touch with your body, but ask yourself the following:

Can you distinguish between your body’s hunger and your habit of appetite?

Do you feel the difference between innocent sexual attraction and your pleasure-oriented sexual need?

Do you perceive the connection between your emotional state and your breath?

Do you perceive the difference between need and desire?

We encourage a re-connection with the body through:

Getting in touch with nature. Walking. Yoga (asana). Breathing excercises.

2: To show how thought has stolen spontaneity from life

Do you confuse joy and pleasure?

Do you live in the past or the future instead of in the present?

Does fear, desire or ambition provide your primary motivations?

Do you imitate instead of create?

We encourage an awareness of the process of thinking through:

Rounding: Asana, Pranayama & Meditation. The Hamsa Breath Kriya

3: To see ourselves as we are.

Are you aware that you have created an image of yourself and that it is through this image that you relate to the world?

Do you see that this image has been created and maintained through ideals and imitation rather than through the reality of yourself as you are?

We encourage looking honestly and openly at yourself through:

Silence
